GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards to fitness equipment.
Required Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Minimum age of 16 required. Must be able to read labels on cleaning chemicals and understand verbal and written instructions in English. Must have good verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions
Must have and maintain: current CPR/AED certification or obtain within three (3) months of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to: Continuously move throughout the facility while cleaning and maintaining fitness areas; frequently bend, squat, kneel, and reach to clean equipment and surfaces; occasionally climb stairs or ladders to access and clean all areas; perform repetitive upper-body movements including pushing, pulling, and gripping while using cleaning tools and handling equipment; safely lift and transport cleaning supplies and exercise weights up to 50 lbs. and over with assistance; and maintain hand-eye coordination as well as balance for effective and safe cleaning
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This position will primarily work in the fitness center and may be exposed to dust, odors, and cleaning chemicals and use precautions while handling patron’s used towels which could be contaminated with bodily fluids.

Essential Functions
- Become knowledgeable in all Parks Plus Fitness Center programs and services.
- Clean and maintain fitness equipment daily.
- Ensure the fitness center is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
- Basic technological understanding of a comprehensive television system, having the ability to change the television station upon a member’s request in a timely manner (no more than 10 minutes).
- Maintain fitness center floor, including checking supplies located on the fitness center floor each shift and ensuring that supplies are replenished as needed (including paper towels, hand sanitizer, etc.); empty trash cans; and pick up small items from the floor.
- Greet and acknowledge members and guests entering Parks Plus Fitness through providing quality customer service.
- Wash and fold towels.
- Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
- Follow the Wheaton Park District and Parks Plus Fitness Center policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proactively support the Districts Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
