The Manager of Facilities and Campus Operations will provides strategic leadership for the structural trades, custodial, and grounds/landscaping teams to ensure a safe, functional, and aesthetic campus facility. You will manage diverse teams of skilled tradespeople and custodial staff while overseeing complex operational budgets and vendor contracts. This is an essential position and is required to respond to weather related events such as snow storms to help manage snow removal services.
- Personnel Leadership & Team Development: Hiring, training, and supervising a diverse workforce of skilled trades (carpenters/painters), custodial crews, and groundskeepers.
- Strategic Budgeting & Resource Management: Managing the operational budgets for all three departments, overseeing procurement for equipment, and negotiating high-value vendor contracts for specialized services.
- Structural Trades & Custodial Standards & Quality Assurance: Implementing rigorous cleaning protocols and performing regular inspections to ensure interior spaces meet health, safety, and sanitation benchmarks. Oversee repairs to structural elements of physical assets and infrastructure, including but not limited to roofs, facades, windows, doors, and walls. Ensure the integrity and operation of these systems and, as necessary, bring operational conditions up to standards when systems are in a state of disrepair.
- Safety, Compliance, & Risk Management: Ensuring all operations adhere to OSHA standards, local building codes, ADA requirements, and environmental regulations to minimize institutional liability.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Planning: Utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule and track recurring maintenance for structural assets and grounds equipment to extend life cycles.
- Emergency Response & Logistics Coordination: Leading the logistical response for weather-related events (snow/storm recovery) and internal emergencies (leaks/structural failures) to ensure 24/7 campus safety. This position is categorized as essential to campus operations and serves as a critical responder for campus emergencies and weather-related events. Expectation is that this individual will oversee external vendors and internal staff executing work to ensure continuous operations of the campus.
- Other Duties: Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role. Representation at team, departmental, or division level meetings, contributing to discussions, plans, and reporting on actions taken on any work-related initiative.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Vocational or technical training or degree
- 3-5 Years supervisory experience within Grounds, Structural Trades, or Custodial departments
- Experience managing operational budgets.
- Experience managing supervisor-level employees, developing objectives, and providing clear communication around those objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction Supervisors License
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
