As a Quality Technician at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, in Blytheville, AR. you will play a key role in ensuring product compliance through inspections, testing, and process monitoring. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices in accordance with regulatory standards and company policy.
Calibrate test equipment daily, including micrometers, calipers, and coating thickness gauges.
Assist with calibrating pH and conductivity meters and refractometers.
Assist with performing titrations on process tanks to support process efficiency.
Perform random quality audits of finished products to verify compliance with customer specifications.
Notify mill management when products are out of tolerance and verify corrective actions.
Identify and record non-conforming products to support quality standards and traceability.
Perform inventory checks and communicate supply needs to support uninterrupted quality operations.
Support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts with operations teams.
Communicate ongoing quality issues to the QA Manager or QA Supervisor.
Maintain regular, full-time onsite attendance as scheduled.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Quality Department.
Who You Are
1 year of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma preferred; some college coursework preferred.
Working knowledge of quality standards and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic math skills for calibration, measurement, and documentation.
Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
Familiarity with hand tools, bandsaws, cutoff saws, and hydraulic presses.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks.
Physical Abilities
Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment around moving equipment and production processes.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive measurement and inspection tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to use hands and arms to handle tools, gauges, and small components with precision.
