Typical Work Day
A Grounds crew member is required to be able to complete a large variety of tasks throughout the day. Grounds crew tasks can be generally categorized as manual labor and are related to landscaping.
Landscape maintenance tasks include: operating different types of walking lawn mowers, use of string trimmers, operation of powered debris blowers, use of chainsaw, and operation of other motorized equipment.
Tasks specific to golf course maintenance include: raking bunkers, mowing greens, changing hole locations, filling ball washers, filling water coolers, moving tee markers, etc.
In addition, Grounds crew members are often called upon to complete or assist in all tasks on the course including: special projects, irrigation repair, and other general maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance and groundskeeping best practices
- Experience in mowing, lawn care, pruning, and general maintenance
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools; basic a plus
- systems maintenance and simple repairs
- Understanding of to identify pests and diseases
- Physical stamina for outdoor work and ability to follow safety protocols and schedules
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.55 - $18.47 per hour
