What's Up Summerville is looking for a reliable and community-minded Facebook Group Moderator to help manage and support our growing local online community.

This is a volunteer / contractor-style role ideal for someone who enjoys local engagement, community building, and helping keep conversations positive, helpful, and on-brand.

Help support local businesses and shape one of Summerville’s fastest-growing online communities while building valuable local connections and visibility.

Responsibilities

Review and approve member requests

Monitor posts and comments for spam or inappropriate content

Help keep discussions positive and community-focused

Answer basic group questions when needed

Flag issues, concerns, or opportunities for improvement

Help encourage local engagement and member participation

Ideal Candidate

Active on Facebook and familiar with group moderation

Friendly, professional, and community-oriented

Good judgment and common sense

Strong communication skills

Passion for supporting local businesses and the Summerville community

Reliable and consistent

Flexible schedule

Remote / online

Approx. 2–4 hours per week
