Job Summary
Position Title: Clinical Informatics
Department: Administration
Location: Tuscaloosa, AL (Onsite)
Reports To: Quality Director
FLSA: Exempt
Summary: Manage and analyze data to advance the quality of care for patients. Gather, analyze and evaluate healthcare data to improve patient outcomes and increase efficiency. Transform raw data into meaningful information to support Quality, Operations and Clinical Teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Qualifications:
Education, Training, Experience and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer sciences or related field; master’s degree in health informatics preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a health informatics specialist or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Epic, and other EHR software and programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of health information system design, database management and healthcare information management best practices.
- Superb analytical, organizational and time management skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to teach and instruct end users on programs and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor
- Support clinical and operational teams with EHR adoption and use.
- Collaborate with leadership to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Participate in system build, testing and implementation of new features.
- Transform raw data into reports using EHR dashboards and reporting tools.
- Coordinate training for new staff and providers; issue credentials and provide support.
- Develop health information systems for data collection, sharing and integration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Employee is routinely required to sit for extended periods, listen and speak, and maintain close computer vision. Must manage multiple simultaneous demands.
