What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Extra Help - Special Projects Manager position at Whatcom County, WA?
Summary
Whatcom County Health and Community Services (WCHCS) and the Whatcom County Executive’s Office seek a joint, part-time Special Projects Manager to fill a temporary coordination role on strategic, time-limited projects.
This position will be focused on the following assignments:
- Coordination of a time limited blighted properties workgroup to make recommendations to the County Council at the intersection of code enforcement, environmental health, and human services.
- Preliminary outcome reports for WCHCS Response System Division.
- Technical assistance and coordination for Healthy Children’s Fund contracts.
- Human Services emergency response and homelessness coordination.
Other areas of assignment may be delegated as needed.
Length of Position: The position is expected to work 15-20 hours per week and conclude by the end of 2026. 75% of the position will be funded through the County’s Special Revenue funds.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor' s Degree in public health, human services, business management, public administration or a related field, AND five years of project management experience in human services, public policy, or a related field.
