If you answered yes, Whatcom County is interested in learning more about your qualifications and experience, and about how you can best serve and improve county government by filling this key role in the Facilities Division of the Administrative Services Department. This position performs a variety of janitorial tasks related to the day-to-day cleaning and basic maintenance of County facilities under limited supervision. Works with various tools, equipment, and machinery and participates as a member of a team.

Pay Range: $20.04 - $30.10 MCBA- Range 106.0We are required by State Law to list the full salary range. As a public entity and in a union-covered position, we are required to make pay decisions based on experience, qualifications, and equity with other employees. Hiring rate typically is limited to entry to mid of the posted salary range, subject to required approvals.
Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or GED AND 2 years of recent experience as a custodian working for a commercial firm or public institution OR completion of a certified janitorial training course.
- Must have a driving record that meets County standards and possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and throughout employment.
- Background check must meet County criteria for security sensitive positions.
- Must pass pre-employment physical capacities test
