Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various settings including home health, pediatric OT and experience supporting children with Autism. As a COTA, you will work closely with occupational therapists to implement treatment plans that enhance patients' ability to perform daily activities and improve their overall quality of life. Your role will be crucial in providing patient care across diverse populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve functional abilities.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide therapy services in home environments.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in the assessment and treatment of patients.
- Support patients through therapeutic exercises, modalities, and other interventions as prescribed by the supervising occupational therapist.
- Engage with patients to encourage participation in their therapy sessions while ensuring a safe environment.
- Stay informed about current best practices in occupational health and therapy techniques.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Experience in pediatric setting is preferred.
- Previous experience assisting with ADLs and developing care plans is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing exceptional patient care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
