Summary
The Repack Supervisor is a vital role at What Chefs Want located in Melbourne, FL. This position will direct the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met, supporting our commitment to superior service and sustainable practices. Coordinates repack activities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager. Responsible for training repack personnel to ensure a well-coordinated daily operation.
Responsibilities
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the repack department. Such activities include, but are not limited to coordinating repack, and sanitation.
- Responsible for properly training staff to ensure that they are correctly and effeciently completing all assigned duties to company standards and complying with standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Responsible for ensuring that the department is achieving product quality standards in repacked produce as defined by collective management.
- Responsible for ensuring that the repack personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform daily functions and making recommendations to Warehouse Manager for any necessary replacements.
- Responsible for food safety and food handling.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to manage and lead a team.
- Ability to work independently is needed to support the group effort.
- Ability to accurately manage inventory on daily basis
- Computer skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have good supervisory and communication skills.
- One year or more related produce experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail (both produce and systems).
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock.
- Physical strength to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, reach, squat etc. on a regular basis.
- Good visual acuity to inspect incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Good finger dexterity to input data into inventory records.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
