Field Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater Division in Sanford, North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Foreman with structure layout
  • Field purchase orders
  • Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.
  • Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
  • Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
  • Maintain as-built drawings.
  • Collect and assemble O&M material.
  • Perform subcontract scope analysis.
  • Assist with purchasing and expediting.
  • Document distribution.
  • Meeting minutes and distribution.
  • Scheduling.

Requirements

  • Surveying/layout, technical writing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
