General Description
The Information Technology Technician repairs and maintains microcomputers, peripheral equipment, computer and data communications cabling, microcomputer laboratory setup and testing, and telephone equipment, setup, testing, and maintenance. This position provides technical support to the College's expanding network infrastructure for specific development and maintenance.
Requirements
This position requires an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent or four (4) years work experience or a combination of education and work experience. This position requires good communication skills in both written and verbal forms and the ability to work closely with all members of the College. This position requires the ability to diagnose problems and repair electronic hardware at the module level, the ability to assist in scheduling and supervising the activities of the part time repair technician, and the ability to read and understand technical documentation. This position requires the ability to drive to various locations to perform duties. The person in this position must be insurable under the College's motor vehicle insurance policy. This position requires the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. A criminal background check is required.
