What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Construction Laborer position at WGIB Inc?
Job duties of a general laborer vary. They may include cleaning and preparing job site, loading and delivering materials and using a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, among other hand tools. Laborers set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structure. They will assist or take the lead with other job duties as required on site.
General laborers must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Laborers must also be able to concentrate on their task. The ability to understand and communicate information is essential. Some machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use.
There are no minimum educational requirements to be a general laborer, but those with specialized skills have the greatest opportunity to advance their career.
High school classes in general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blue print reading, physics, mathematics are helpful.
Specialized training certificates are not required to be hired, but will be a requirement upon employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
