Position Summary
This role plays a critical dual function within WGA: driving strategic talent acquisition while building and coordinating a scalable Learning & Development (L&D) program to support employee growth and organizational capability.
The ideal candidate is both a strong recruiter and a proactive talent development partner—capable of sourcing top-tier professionals while also helping develop the skills, leadership pipeline, and technical competencies needed to support WGA’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition (Primary Recruiting Responsibilities)
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for a range of positions including engineers, designers, environmental consultants, program management consultants, shared services, and other roles as needed.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from intake meetings through offer acceptance and onboarding coordination.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline through networking, industry events, partnerships with educational institutions, and professional associations.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand workforce planning needs and provide guidance on recruitment best practices.
- Utilize recruiting tools and platforms including social media, job boards, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to identify and engage candidates.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive hiring practices and compensation alignment.
- Track and report recruitment metrics to drive data-informed hiring decisions.
- Support employer branding initiatives to strengthen WGA’s presence in the engineering talent market.
- Oversee and execute campus recruitment including all career fair and intern related coordination.
Learning & Development (L&D) Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer WGA’s Learning & Development programs across all offices.
- Partner with Corporate Development Director & HR Manager to identify skills gaps and training needs aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and manage onboarding programs to ensure consistent, high-quality new hire integration.
- Coordinate internal and external training opportunities, including technical, compliance, and leadership development programs.
- Coordinate with external training vendors, professional organizations, and continuing education providers.
- Support career pathing and succession planning initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
- Administer Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Track and report on training participation, effectiveness, and ROI.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with required certifications or professional development standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth throughout the organization.
- Support and manage internal event coordination & oversight with Marketing support.
Qualifications
- 3 years of recruitment experience, preferably within civil engineering, consulting, or related industries.
- Experience coordinating or administering learning and development programs preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering roles and the competencies required for success in technical environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across recruiting and program coordination.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and partner with leaders.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience tracking metrics and reporting outcomes.
