POSTED ON 7/16/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/14/2026
Founded in 2007, Ward Getz & Associates LLC (WGA) is a Texas based professional consulting firm that has steadily grown in a competitive market by consistently delivering exceptional quality and service. Our success is rooted in the belief that creative design drives successful projects and that strong collaborative relationships with municipalities, permitting authorities, and local and state agencies lead to tangible results throughout the development process. Our diverse project experience spans industrial, commercial, large mixed-use developments, hospitality, healthcare, education, municipal infrastructure, and both multifamily and single-family residential projects. From preliminary feasibility studies to full scale design, we are committed to providing value through innovative and cost-effective solutions tailored to each project's unique needs. With five established offices across Texas in Houston, The Woodlands, College Station, Austin, and San Antonio, and with remote team members located throughout the United States, WGA continues to expand its reach while maintaining a strong local presence.

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Practice Manager to lead and grow our Landscape Architecture service line. This is a senior management role for a licensed professional who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, client relationships, and team development. The Practice Manager will shape the direction of landscape architecture at WGA: building the team, driving business development, and delivering exceptional work across our diverse portfolio of Texas and national projects.

Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Design

  • Lead the landscape architecture practice at WGA, setting standards for design quality, project delivery, and client service across all office locations.
  • Direct the development of landscape architecture concepts, site plans, planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation plans, and construction documents across a range of project types.
  • Partner with civil engineering, planning, and other disciplines to integrate landscape architecture solutions into complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Lead master planning, parks and recreation design, streetscape improvements, trail systems, urban design, and community development projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, ordinances, accessibility requirements, and sustainability goals while reflecting WGA’s commitment to design excellence.

Business Development & Client Management

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and build long-term client relationships that generate recurring work for the landscape architecture practice.
  • Manage project financials including budgets, fee negotiations, invoicing, and profitability across the practice portfolio.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients, leading presentations, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop landscape architecture staff, fostering a high-performance team culture aligned with WGA’s values and growth goals.
  • Collaborate across WGA’s offices and disciplines to position the firm for multidisciplinary pursuits where landscape architecture is a key differentiator.

Project Delivery & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the preparation and quality review of construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications across practice projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and related design software; champion adoption of tools and workflows that improve team efficiency and deliverable quality.
  • Apply expertise in site analysis, grading coordination, planting design, and material selection to guide teams and uphold design integrity through construction.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards for the practice, ensuring all deliverables meet WGA’s technical and professional benchmarks.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (RLA) required.

Experience

  • 10 years of progressive landscape architecture experience, including demonstrated leadership of projects, teams, or a practice group.
  • Experience working on land development, municipal, transportation, parks, recreation, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting environment preferred.
  • Proven track record of growing a book of business, delivering profitable projects, and developing staff.
