What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level AI Developer / Recent Graduate position at WG Henschen?
The Opportunity
Are you a recent grad who's curious about AI and wants to build real tools that real people use — not just talk theory? We're hiring an AI Developer to help us put practical AI to work across the business: automating manual tasks, building smart tools on top of our NetSuite ERP, and connecting large language models to the systems our teams rely on every day.
You won't be training models from scratch — you'll be building on today's best AI platforms (LLMs, document AI, OCR, and agentic AI) to solve real business problems, with plenty of room to learn, experiment, and grow.
What You'll Do
AI and Business Process Development
● Identify business processes that can be improved or automated using AI
● Develop AI-powered applications, agents, and workflow automations
● Integrate LLMs and AI services into existing company applications and processes
● Build solutions to extract, interpret, classify, and validate information from documents, emails, PDFs, spreadsheets, and other business data
● Develop employee-facing tools to search, summarize, analyze, and interact with company information
● Create prototypes and proofs of concept and help convert successful prototypes into reliable production solutions
● Evaluate emerging AI technologies for potential business value
NetSuite Integration
● Develop NetSuite SuiteScript and Suitelet applications
● Integrate NetSuite with external AI APIs and services
● Use SuiteQL, REST APIs, RESTlets, and related NetSuite integration technologies
● Develop AI-assisted workflows supporting sales and quoting, RFQs and supplier management, purchasing, inventory, order processing, shipping and logistics, accounts payable, customer service, reporting, and analytics
● Build AI tools that analyze NetSuite data and provide useful recommendations or summaries
● Automate repetitive data-entry and research activities while maintaining appropriate human review and controls
AI Agents and Automation
● Develop AI agents capable of performing multi-step business tasks
● Connect AI systems with internal databases, APIs, Microsoft 365, NetSuite, and other company systems
● Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using internal company information
● Develop structured prompting, tool calling, and AI workflow orchestration
● Create safeguards, validation, logging, and human-approval processes for AI-generated actions
● Monitor AI applications for accuracy, reliability, cost, and performance
Software Development
● Develop applications and integrations using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and HTML/CSS
● Work with relational databases and business data
● Use Git or similar source-control tools
● Document applications, APIs, workflows, prompts, and system configurations
● Test and troubleshoot applications and integrations
What You'll Bring
● Bachelor's degree (or recent grad) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
● Programming experience through coursework, internships, or personal projects
● Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
● A basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
● Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and generative AI / LLMs
● Strong analytical and communication skills — you can explain what you built and why
● A genuine curiosity about how businesses work, not just how to write code
Nice to Have (Not Required)
● Exposure to NetSuite, SuiteScript, SuiteQL, or other ERP systems
● Hands-on experience with OpenAI or other LLM APIs
● Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, or Power Platform
● Experience with AI agents, RAG, vector databases, or embeddings
● OCR or document-processing experience
● Comfort with Git/GitHub, Node.js, or cloud development
