About the Role:

The Payroll Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees across the organization. This position is responsible for managing payroll operations in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of employee data. The Payroll Manager will lead a team to optimize payroll processes, implement best practices, and utilize payroll systems such as Ultipro, PeopleSoft, and ADP Enterprise to streamline operations. Additionally, this role involves collaborating closely with HR and finance departments to align payroll activities with company policies and support performance review processes. Ultimately, the Payroll Manager ensures employees are compensated correctly and on schedule, contributing to overall employee satisfaction and organizational compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing payroll operations in a medium to large organization.
  • Proven expertise in payroll tax regulations and compliance across multiple states within the United States.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software systems such as Ultipro, PeopleSoft, and ADP Enterprise.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and their impact on payroll processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar payroll certification.
  • Experience working in a multi-state or multi-jurisdictional payroll environment.
  • Familiarity with performance review processes and their integration with payroll adjustments.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and payroll reporting tools.
  • Experience leading and mentoring payroll teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution for all employees.
  • Manage payroll tax compliance, including calculation, reporting, and remittance of federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Utilize payroll systems such as Ultipro, PeopleSoft, and ADP Enterprise to process payroll and maintain employee records.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure payroll aligns with company policies, benefits administration, and performance review outcomes.
  • Lead and develop the payroll team, providing training and support to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data and processes to identify and resolve discrepancies or compliance issues.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare and present payroll reports to senior management and assist with budgeting and forecasting related to payroll expenses.

The Payroll Manager will apply their expertise in payroll tax and processing to ensure compliance and accuracy in all payroll activities. Proficiency with payroll systems such as Ultipro, PeopleSoft, and ADP Enterprise is essential for managing employee data and executing payroll runs efficiently.
