About the Position

WFMC Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to join our integrated care team in Salem, Oregon. This role supports patients through Behavioral Health Consultations and Brief Therapy services within a primary care setting. The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced medical environment, understands integrated care, and is comfortable delivering brief, goal-oriented, evidence-based interventions.

What You’ll Do

As part of the primary care team, the Behavioral Health Clinician provides consultation, assessment, brief intervention, therapy, care coordination, crisis support, and documentation in accordance with program standards and applicable regulations.

· Collaborate with medical providers and care teams to identify and treat emotional, behavioral, mental health, substance use, and co-occurring physical health concerns.

· Provide goal-oriented consultations and brief interventions for patients referred through warm handoffs, provider referrals, or self-referral.

· Assess risk, develop safety and recovery plans, de-escalate crisis situations, and coordinate with patient supports and crisis resources as needed.

· Refer and coordinate patients to appropriate services, including in-house Brief Therapy, community mental health services, medication management, crisis services, and substance use treatment.

· Provide patient education and support behavior change using culturally responsive, evidence-based approaches.

· Deliver short-term, problem-focused therapeutic services, typically in 20- to 40-minute sessions, based on clinic need, patient demand, and clinician availability.

· Accurately document assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, safety plans, consultations, referrals, and ongoing care in the electronic medical record.

· Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, multidisciplinary collaboration, agency meetings, trainings, and community practice meetings.

· Leading therapeutic group sessions such as grief, pain management, parenting, child behavioral modification and emotional regulation.

Brief Therapy Services

The clinician may provide Brief Therapy services for patients with mild to moderate mental health diagnoses for up to nine months. Services may include assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis prevention planning, individual therapy, care coordination, and referrals to community-based programs.

Therapy approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based practices as clinically indicated.

Qualifications

· Master’s or doctoral degree in a professional field related to the position.

· Active Oregon license as a practicing mental health provider, such as PsyD, PhD, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC; or eligibility to become licensed in Oregon within 6 months.

· Experience providing behavioral health services in a medical, primary care, or community mental health setting preferred.

· Ability to provide timely, concise, and professional clinical documentation.

· Strong communication, collaboration, flexibility, and ethical decision-making skills.

· Ability to work effectively with patients, families, employees, community partners, and diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bilingual skills in English and Spanish, Chinese, Chuukese, Russian, or another language represented in the clinic community.

· Experience or interest in women’s health, chronic disease, or integrated behavioral health.

· Experience working across the lifespan and with multicultural, multilingual populations.

· Knowledge of program development, assessment, and quality improvement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
