Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production of parts.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise components.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and write or modify CNC code as needed for production runs.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct quality inspections utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial indicators, and other measurement tools to verify tolerances
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts and power tools when necessary for material handling or setup.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Assist with assembly, welding, or plastics injection molding tasks as required for integrated manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, Mori Seiki, Makino, Yasda or Roeders machines
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately and understand GD&T principles.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, hand tools, tooling setups, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with plastics injection molding or CNC lathes is a plus but not mandatory.
- Valid forklift certification preferred; willingness to operate power tools safely is required.
