What are the responsibilities and job description for the Working Superintendent/Foreman position at Wf Johnston Construction?
WF Johnston Construction is a union construction company specializing in concrete water tower and tank foundations in the Midwest.
We are looking for a hands on, working superintendent/working foreman to lead small crews of workers to complete water tower and tank foundation projects.
Our superintendents lead all work by example with hands on every task that is performed. With assistance from the general superintendent and project manager our superintendents schedule and work with our excavating and ironworking subcontractors, concrete pump companies, concrete companies, as well as employees out of local union halls to complete our foundations accurately and efficiently.
Ideal candidates must be able to work with center of tower and off set layouts to layout the excavation for the foundation, calculate and shoot accurate elevations at all times, assist in laying out rebar, install Symons forms and hardware, and pour and vibrate concrete.
We use a theodolite to maintain center of tower using any and all offsets to remain accurate throughout the job. If a quality candidate is not familiar with a theodolite, we will teach.
Our starting pay is union scale, either your local scale or the local scale we are performing work in, whichever is higher. Pay raises are given as earned on top of any union raises given yearly. Current non-union candidates may still apply, as we are willing to sponsor the right candidate into a union. Laborers, Carpenters, Concrete Finishers may apply.
Our superintendents drive company vehicles with tools, gas cards, and credit cards provided.
Normal workday schedule is 7-3:30 plus 30 minutes of overtime to look over plans, schedule ahead, and turn in daily or weekly electronic paperwork and payroll.

Other times we have lots of out-of-town work. Home every weekend, guaranteed.
