Responsible To:

 

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is directly responsible to Principal, Assistant Principal, Executive Director of Student Services and/or Assistant Director(s) of Special Education.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
  • Massachusetts licensure/certification appropriate for school-based practice
  • Experience working within therapeutic learning classrooms or substantially separate behavioral programs is required
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-sensitive and relationship-based behavioral practices
  • Experience developing and implementing FBAs and BIPs in educational settings
  • Demonstrated skill in behavioral data collection, analysis, graphing, and progress monitoring
  • Experience coaching and consulting with multidisciplinary school teams
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral disabilities preferred

General Duties:

 

This position emphasizes relationship-based behavioral supports, student voice, trauma-sensitive practices, and proactive intervention development designed to increase student access, engagement, and success within the educational environment.

The BCBA will work collaboratively with special education teachers, adjustment counselors, related service providers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized behavioral programming for students in therapeutic learning environments. The BCBA will provide direct consultation, staff coaching, behavioral assessment, and ongoing data analysis to support positive student outcomes. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience designing and implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) through comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), behavioral observations, and individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

 

Specific Duties:

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and behavioral observations to identify patterns, triggers, and replacement skill needs
  • Develop and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) grounded in proactive, relationship-based approaches
  • Collaborate with teachers, adjustment counselors, and support staff to implement behavioral momentum strategies and classroom-based interventions
  • Provide consultation and coaching to classroom staff regarding evidence-based behavioral practices and therapeutic supports
  • Support the development of student self-regulation, coping, communication, and social-emotional skills
  • Utilize student voice and strengths-based approaches in intervention planning and implementation
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to evaluate intervention effectiveness
  • Graph behavioral trends and modify interventions based on ongoing student progress and identified needs
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute to the development of behavioral goals and accommodations
  • Assist in crisis prevention and de-escalation planning using trauma-informed and restorative practices
  • Supervising all direct service providers in the school
  • Support district initiatives related to inclusive and therapeutic educational programming
