Forklift Operator - Concord, NC

Weyerhaeuser currently has an opportunity available for a Forklift Operator at our Concord location. We are conveniently located near Harrisburg, just behind the motor speedway. Our focus each day is on safely delivering high‑quality wood products to our customers. We receive a variety of wood products from our mills, cut them to specification, and then move the finished materials to our customers in a safe and efficient manner.

We take great pride in servicing our customers in a safe and team-based environment. The primary activities in our operations department include unloading railcars/trucks of building materials, cycle counting, storing materials, breaking full units down into custom orders, and loading outbound trucks.

We are looking to hire talented people that are interested in getting trained in our business. These are NOT temp positions, these are direct hire positions with benefits, for anyone wanting a career. This role will be performed on the evening shift and require regular movement throughout the day, which means regular periods of standing, sitting, walking, and sliding/moving up to 100 pounds, and even driving heavy equipment outdoors in all types of weather.

With the direction of the Site Manager, this role will focus on safely moving our product for our customers. We want talented people with at least a high school diploma, that have a drive to perform and a commitment to safety. From there, we will safely train them to pick and pull orders and operate a forklift to efficiently load and move products for our customers.

The starting hourly pay rate is based on experience and will start at $18.50 per hour, which does not include overtime, which is additional. The shift would start at 4:30 PM and will end at 1:00AM. There is room for some overtime, and you can also drive your base pay rate higher, as you master more and more skills.
