Key Functions

As a Procurement Professional, you are a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work without direct supervision. This position has overall responsibility for providing incoming and outflow of goods and services, contract negotiation and management as needed, with oversight for inventory and asset management.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $75,600 to $113,500 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Key Functions And Responsibilities
- Perform purchasing and sourcing for products and services of a more complex nature. This may include new inventory or unsourced parts, non-contracted items, and all higher dollar transactions, including capital.
- Responsible for leading Request for Proposal (RFP) process for goods and services, drafting formal contracts & negotiations, issuing SAP Purchase Orders and managing supplier relationships.
- Lead cost reduction & savings initiatives through implementation.
- Responsible for Investment recovery process for asset disposition.
- Perform & oversee internal controls relating to purchasing & storeroom inventory management.
- Supervises storeroom materials manager and provides or coordinates training and mentoring as required.
- Provide oversight to maintain proper storeroom inventory levels and accurately perform inventory cycle counts.
- Ensure transactional and procedural aspects of purchasing and materials management activities are in accordance with Wood Products Procurement centralized procedures and guidelines, while also supporting the mill’s requirements and local processes.
- Ensure purchasing and storeroom performance show continuous improvement (or sustained high performance) as measured by Wood Products Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and guidelines, while also supporting the mill’s local KPIs.
- Manage additional duties as required for the effective & efficient flow of goods and services to the mill.
- Step in and provide team support as needed outside of core areas of responsibility.

- Diploma/Certificate or SCMP designation, college graduate, or six years of purchasing and storeroom experience.
- Experience in maintenance and capital project support, including bidding, negotiating and contract administration.
- Strong safety focus.
- Strong accounting acumen.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office applications).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle large volumes of work and multiple priorities.
