Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Wetherald Behavioral Consulting
Americus, GA Full Time | Part Time
POSTED ON 10/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/20/2027

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and individuals with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, support clients in achieving their goals, and collaborate closely with supervising Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Your dedication will help foster positive growth, skill development, and independence for those on the autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in behavioral health while making a lasting impact.

To become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), candidates must first meet basic prerequisites: be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a comprehensive criminal background check within 180 days prior to applying. Applicants must then complete a 40-hour training course based on the BACB curriculum guidelines, finished within a timeframe of 5 to 180 days. Following the coursework, candidates must pass an initial hands-on competency assessment supervised by a qualified BCBA or BCaBA within 90 days before applying. Once the BACB approves the application, candidates take the official 85-question, 90-minute multiple-choice RBT Examination administered via Pearson VUE. After passing the exam, active RBT status requires ongoing supervision by a qualified BACB supervisor for at least 5% of direct service hours each month.
