WeTheHobby is seeking a highly driven Contract Motion Graphics Designer to join our creative team. This role is focused on creating engaging motion assets that bring our products to life, strengthen product storytelling, and elevate key launch moments. You’ll work closely with Marketing and Product Design to create memorable user experiences across digital platforms and campaigns. We're a fast-moving, collaborative team that values ownership, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and animate engaging live stream graphics and effects
• Organize and maintain digital assets and project files
• Contribute new concepts for animated graphics to position WeTheHobby as an industry leader
• Design adjacent WTH-related collateral marketing materials for print and digital
• Deliver polished, production ready work under tight timelines
• Maintain WeTheHobby’s visual standards and brand consistency

Required Skills

• 3-7 years of experience in a high-growth startup or creative agency environment
• Strong design, layout, composition and animation skills
• Thrives in a collaborative creative environment, contributing ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and working across teams to deliver compelling motion design.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proficiency with Canva or similar
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Portfolio demonstrating highly polished design and animation work (sports or live content preferred)

Contract Details

• Contract / Freelance position
• Duration: 3-months
• Onsite: 23 Arlington Street, Rochester NY, 14607
• Reporting to: Head of Product Design

Physical Requirements

• While this is primarily a desk-based role, the employee must be able to:
• Sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods throughout the workday. 
• Regularly bend, stoop, reach, or ascend stairs within an office or warehouse environment. 
• Lift, carry, and move product cases, shipping materials, and office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Navigate between office, warehouse, and live production areas while collaborating with multiple departments.

Compensation & Schedule

• Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• The hourly rate for this position is $33.65 - $38.46 per hour, based on location in Rochester, NY, and experience. 
• To comply with Federal law, WeTheHobby participates in E-Verify. All newly hired employees are verified through this electronic system established by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) to confirm their identity and employment eligibility.

Pay: $33.65 - $38.46 per hour
