Dog Walker & Hiker — Part-Time
$18–$20/hour mileage reimbursement and occasional tips
Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, Beverly, and nearby communities
Spend your workday outdoors with dogs, leading small-group adventures and neighborhood walks.
Your own dog-friendly vehicle is required. You must be willing and able to safely transport at least two dogs, including large, wet, or muddy dogs. We provide a protective car cover and walking supplies.
Two openings
- Tuesday–Friday: approximately 16–20 hours of walks and adventures per week.
- Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: approximately 12–15 hours per week. Monday availability starting at 8 a.m. is essential.
Both openings require availability 8 a.m.–4 p.m. These are scheduling windows, not continuous eight-hour shifts. Hours vary with bookings and aren’t guaranteed.
Follow your assigned route and meet each dog’s pickup window. Between services, personal errands and breaks are welcome as time allows. Mileage reimbursement covers your work route, excluding personal detours.
Weekend availability is a plus, especially mornings and afternoons. We’re seeking weekend coverage from at least one new hire.
The work
- Two-hour adventures with up to two dogs to start.
- Individual 30-minute and one-hour walks.
- Safe pickups, transportation, and drop-offs.
- Photos and brief client updates through our app.
You’ll need
- At least one year of hands-on dog experience.
- Confidence with different dog sizes, personalities, and body language.
- Reliability, punctuality, and clear communication.
- Comfort working independently, entering clients’ homes, and being active outdoors in varying weather.
We provide on-the-job training and are looking for a long-term team member. Applicants must not currently provide dog-walking services independently or through another company in our service area.
