We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our dynamic veterinary team at Westwood Regional Veterinary Hospital. Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring patient status
• Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
• Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret basic results to aid in diagnosis
• Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and vaccination logs
• Administer treatments such as medication administration, wound care, and animal catheterization under supervision
• Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, and pet grooming to promote comfort and hygiene
• Take diagnostic radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and aseptic technique for clear imaging results

Requirements

• Valid license as a Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification in veterinary technology
• Proven kennel experience with animals of various species, including dogs and cats
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures for dental cleanings and exams
• Experience with animal husbandry practices across different species including equine experience preferred
• Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures such as emergency response and intensive patient monitoring
• Laboratory experience involving sample collection, analysis, and interpretation of results
• Ability to handle dogs confidently through training techniques or dog handling skills
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary technician protocols
• Skilled in animal restraint techniques for safe examinations or treatments
• Experience with pet care routines such as grooming and pet grooming techniques
• Proficiency in X-ray operation with attention to aseptic technique during imaging procedures

Pay: $25.73 - $35.00 per hour
