Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet handling, including feeding, walking, grooming, and administering basic care to ensure animals are happy and healthy
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and organization
- Assist with pet boarding procedures, ensuring each animal’s comfort and safety during their stay
- Restrain animals safely using proper animal restraint techniques during cleaning or veterinary procedures
- Support pet grooming activities to keep animals looking and feeling their best
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate observations to veterinary staff or management
- Handle outdoor work tasks such as yard cleaning, exercise walks, and ensuring secure enclosures are maintained
Experience
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued for understanding animal health needs
- Experience in pet sitting or pet care facilities demonstrates your ability to manage multiple animals responsibly
- Kennel experience or animal handling background provides a strong foundation for safe and effective pet care
- Skills in dog training or animal behavior help promote positive interactions with pets of all temperaments
- Customer service experience enhances communication with pet owners and team members
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, team lifting, and outdoor work is essential for managing supplies and caring for large or active animals
