GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Has oversight for non-licensed staff in the community. Has the responsibility of the safety and well-being of all residents. Actively manages resident safety, non-licensed care. Is overall responsible for providing a pleasant living environment for residents under his/her charge and creates a positive workplace for associates.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
· Supervise and direct associates
· When not standing alone, you will be assigned to med pass on a specific floor and a set
· In charge of floor plans for your shift and cover any call offs
· Maintain environments that promote feelings of safety and security.
· Ensure residents activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, dining, continence care, mobility and other functions are being met through partnership with Director of Resident Care
· Responds to resident, family and associate concerns in an appropriate, timely and courteous manner
· Ensure that associates make resident rounds every two hours or as required to ensure safety
· Accept any other tasks, assignments or requests as deemed necessary by the Director of Resident Care or Executive Director
· Recognizing changes in residents’ conditions and reporting such changes to the Director of Resident Care
· Implement proper procedure in safety of residents in case of emergency, injury or any type of incident without the support of licensed nurse.
· Responsible to report all incidents involving residents to Director of Resident Care and complete Incident reports with the proper notification procedures
· Understanding and communicating fire and emergency procedures, hazardous materials, MSDS, and Community safety precautions
· Understanding and ensuring compliance with Universal Precautions including but not limited to infection control standards, hazardous waste policies, blood borne pathogens and all safety rules

· Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy
· Attends required community meetings
· Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis
· All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES
· Good working knowledge of the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
· Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual a plus
· Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
· Clerical and typing skills including typing, data entry, filing, etc. required
· Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred
· Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology preferred
· Able to make independent decisions
· Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
EDUCATIONS REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent with state specific training required
· Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state (if applicable)
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of one (1) year experience
· Experience in a long-care community and/or geriatric nursing preferred
· Experience in emergency care and first-aid preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
· Stand and/or walk up to 90% of work day
· Sit up to 10% of the work day
· Must have manual dexterity for typing and filing
· Frequently support up to 70 pounds
· Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
· Independently lift and carry up to 15 pounds
· Frequently kneel, bend, reach, push, climb and/or balance stoop or kneel, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and/or hear
· May be exposed to combative behavior
· Close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision is required
· Subject to infectious diseases, substances, odors, etc. throughout the work day
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 36.0 per week
