What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworker/laborer position at Westview Orchards?
Worker will be required to complete the following activities as instructed by supervisor: plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, prune, hoe, stake, and harvest to quality standards Apples, Asparagus, Blackberries, Cherries, Corn Stalks, Cucumber, Eggplant, Flowers, Green Beans, Gourds, Grain, Herbs, Lavender, Peaches, Peppers, Pumpkins, Raspberries, Rhubarb, Saskatoon, Strawberries, Squash, Tomato, Tomatillo, and Zucchini; prepare fields for planting; operate forklifts, tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment during field operations incidental to the production and harvest of the various crops; general farm, equipment, vehicle, field, property, and orchard maintenance and clean up tasks, including mowing grass, raking leaves, pulling brush. maintain harvest containers, buckets, bags, bins, baskets, trays, and other equipment; trim, train, trellis, prune, thin and tie plants and fruit trees; seed, transplant, prune, maintain, and harvest flowers, including annual and perennial plants; set up, operate, and maintain irrigation equipment; and packing activities including clean, sort, grade fruits and vegetables, and load, stack, repair and assemble boxes and bins.
