Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and medication lists using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all clinical areas meet safety standards.
- Support physicians during procedures by managing documentation, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Manage medical records accurately, including coding diagnoses with ICD codes and updating electronic health records efficiently.
- Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and manage administrative support duties to streamline clinic operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role.
- Knowledge of internal medicine, geriatrics,
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or X-ray technician are a plus.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management is essential for accurate documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including medication administration, specimen collection (phlebotomy), vital signs measurement.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate attitude toward diverse patient populations across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
