Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will operate and set up various machining equipment primarily to produce threaded oilfield fishing tools, and other precision metal components, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards and specifications. Your expertise in manual machining and blueprint interpretation will be vital in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. Duties
- Set up and calibrate machinery, including machine setup, tooling selection, and adjustments for optimal performance.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control.
- Conduct manual machining operations on lathes, grinders, and other tools for repair, production, finishing or prototype work.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment responsibly.
- Assist in the inspection of finished parts for conformance to specifications using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and ensure timely completion of production orders.
Skills
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and understand machining drawings.
- Experience operating various machining tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and boring equipment.
- Skilled in the use of precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine setup adjustments.
- Ability to read technical documents involving GD&T standards for quality assurance purposes.
