Responsibilities
- Accurately process all sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, ensuring correct cash handling and receipt issuance
- Close out registers at the end of each shift, balancing cash drawers and preparing reports with precision
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves during your shift to ensure an inviting store environment
- Handle customer questions professionally via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with merchandising initiatives
- Supervise or assist junior team members during closing procedures, fostering teamwork and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store environment
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership capabilities within a retail setting
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual environments if applicable
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash reconciliation and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and product demos
- Excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills for engaging with customers and team members
- Skills in upselling products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a positive customer experience
