Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced Liquor store. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and have experience with cash handling and retail sales. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring they have a positive shopping experience while accurately processing transactions.
Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accurate cash drawers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the shopping experience.
- Assist with merchandising by organizing displays and ensuring products are stocked appropriately.
- Perform product demos to showcase new items and encourage sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Adhere to store policies regarding phone etiquette and customer interactions.
Experience
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Experience in supervising staff is a plus but not required.
