Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the dental front office, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional customer service
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, optimizing provider schedules for efficiency
- Supervise front desk staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to uphold high standards of professionalism
- Handle billing, coding, insurance verification, claims processing, and collections to maximize revenue cycle management
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient care continuity and support acute care or hospital-based dental services when needed
- Monitor financial performance through budgeting, expense tracking, and fiscal management strategies to support practice growth
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare administration with a strong background in medical office operations
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like eClinicalWorks or Epic is highly desirable
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate front office teams effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations including JCAHO standards
- Strong fiscal management skills including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle oversight
- Experience in medical administrative support roles within clinics or hospitals; clinic experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining high levels of professionalism
