Unwind Operator

1. Safety
a. Follows safety procedures.
b. Reports any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader or Department Manager.
c. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of employees.
d. Understands all actions on JHAs for print assistant position and performs all essential care
2. Production
a. Safety always takes priority over production
b. Primarily responsible for everything and everyone on the machine
c. Responsible for managing crew on the machine (rotating, breaks, etc.)
d. Works in conjunction with the Team Leader, Unwinder and Rewinder
e. Performs Make Ready on machine
f. Proofreads job jacket for specific job information
g. Collects customer job samples (if required)
h. Achieves production goals for waste, output, and make readies
i. Ensures all DMS checklists and documents are filled out completely and correctly
j. Check print for non-conforming issues (poor prints, registration, etc.)
k. Sets up proper delivery for every job
l. Fills out daily production report
m. Able to do everything that an unwinder and rewinder does
n. Responsible for product safety and product quality, and reports product safety and product quality problems to Senior Management or Quality Manager.
3. Quality
a.) Maintains excellent product quality
b.) Ensures control plan is adhered to
c.) Responsible for ensuring that correct procedure is followed for rejection of raw material
d.) Responsible for ensuring proper procedure is followed for rejecting or passing questionable product produced by their machine
4. Maintenance
a. Can assist in maintenance of machine when necessary.
5. Housekeeping
a. Assists with housekeeping of machine.
b. Responsible for the cleanliness of the equipment in their assigned area.
6. Machinery
a. Perform and ensure all preventative maintenance is being performed on machine according to scheduled Zone PM’s
b. Responsible for troubleshooting problems with the machine and equipment
