Cash Application Supervisor
The Opportunity:
The overarching goal of the Accounts Receivable department is to support the sales growth of Smurfit Westrock while ensuring that the company’s cash flow and credit risk are maintained at acceptable levels. We are recruiting for a Cash Application Supervisor who will oversee a team of Cash Application Coordinator/Analyst. Reporting to the Manager of Cash Application, this role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate application of all customer payments, thereby supporting an efficient collections process. This is a hybrid position and will be onsite 3 days a week in our Duluth office
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Cash Application Team (on and off shore) and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Monitor workloads, out-of-office coverage, treasury requests, ad-hoc tasks, and bank audits.
- Evaluate and improve operational procedures and controls to boost productivity.
- Ensure adherence to internal and SOX controls by the BPO Cash Application group.
- Support manager in developing and tracking KPIs.
- Pursue continuous improvement through training and performance management.
- Join department projects, initiatives, and audits.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- 5 years' experience in high-volume Cash Applications/Accounts Receivable
- BA/BS in Accounting or related field preferred, not required
- Proven problem-solving, priority setting, and planning abilities
- Strong communication, technical, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with JDE and SAP
