Trust Administrator Delaware

If you can explain what a directed trust is without putting the room to sleep, you are already ahead of most applicants. If you administer them every day, you may be exactly who this team has been waiting for, because they have been looking for a while and they are a little tired of almost-right resumes.

Our client, a national fiduciary firm backed by a global asset manager, is seeking a Trust Administrator for its Wilmington office. This is the engine-room seat on a busy Delaware team whose book is mostly directed trusts. You will support senior trust officers and keep sophisticated relationships running the way they are supposed to run: preparing trust summary sheets and discretionary action memorandums, processing beneficiary distributions and trust expenses, curing cash overdrafts with the portfolio team, coordinating with tax preparers (which is a polite way of saying you will help herd K-1s every spring), following directed-trust directions, funding new accounts, and completing annual account reviews.

The office recently moved onto SEI, the work model is hybrid at two to three days a week in Wilmington, and the role is built as a genuine career step. Internally it sits on the relationship associate track, with trust officers who will actually teach you the business.

You have real trust administration experience and you can interpret a governing instrument without breaking a sweat. Experience with directed trusts will move you to the front of the line, as will time on SEI or Global Plus, and Cannon Trust School progress or a CTFA is a plus rather than a requirement. The team has hired for trajectory before, so if you are earlier in your career but properly trained in trust work, Delaware did basically invent a college minor for this, do not count yourself out. What matters most is accuracy, follow-through, and the judgment to flag a problem while it is still small. People who let overdrafts age like wine need not apply.
