Experienced Glass Installer: Shower Doors & Mirrors

Westport Glass is looking for an experienced Glass Installer to join our team!

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented installer with experience installing custom shower doors, glass enclosures, mirrors, and other residential glass products.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, understands the importance of accurate measurements and proper installation, and can work independently while maintaining professional customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Install frameless, semi-frameless, and framed shower doors and enclosures.
• Install large and custom mirrors in residential and commercial settings.
• Install mirrors on drywall, wood, tile, concrete, block, and other surfaces.
• Safely handle, transport, maneuver, and install large and heavy pieces of glass and mirrors.
• Drill tile, concrete, block, and other materials when required for installation.
• Install shower door hardware, including hinges, channels, clamps, handles, seals, and sweeps.
• Accurately measure and verify openings and installation areas.
• Read and understand work orders, measurements, drawings, and installation instructions.
• Determine the proper installation method based on the wall, surface, glass, and hardware.
• Identify potential installation problems and communicate them with the office before proceeding.
• Ensure shower doors and glass are properly aligned, level, and plumb.
• Apply silicone and complete clean, professional finishing work.
• Properly secure mirrors and glass to prevent movement or failure.
• Protect customers' homes, floors, walls, fixtures, and surrounding areas during installation.
• Keep the work area clean and remove installation debris upon completion.
• Inspect all work before leaving the job to ensure it meets Westport Glass quality standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and coworkers.
• Maintain and properly care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Complete service calls, adjustments, and repairs when necessary.
• Follow all company safety and quality-control procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience installing shower doors and mirrors is required.
• Experience installing large, heavy, and custom mirrors is strongly preferred.
• Experience with frameless shower enclosures is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of shower door hardware and proper installation methods.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with measurements down to 1/16".
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver large and heavy glass and mirrors.
• Experience drilling tile, concrete, block, and other installation surfaces.
• Comfortable using drills, levels, suction cups, glass handling equipment, and other installation tools.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to troubleshoot installation issues and make sound decisions in the field.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation.
