What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller - Part Time position at Westport Federal Credit Union?
JOB FUNCTION:
The Teller is responsible for the assisting members by processing transactions, answering questions and assisting with bank business while handling cash and currency as well as be responsible for transacting business efficiently and accurately on member accounts. The Teller position will perform all teller functions as well as solving problems and helping with work related matters. The Teller position will be held to leading quality service standards set by Westport Federal Credit Union.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals.
- Maintain supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency to lead teller.
- Maintains knowledge of available member products and services.
- Maintains required level of quality and quantity of work.
- Keeping a clean, organized work area and a professional appearance.
- Following all bank financial and security regulations and procedures.
- Works within procedural limits of position.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work will involve motivating or influencing others.
- Work involves extensive communication including, but not limited to, verbal, written and electronic, interaction, and collaboration with people on a daily basis in order to provide exemplary service.
- Builds relationships with member by engaging them through conversations regarding their current and future financial needs and educates members about the Credit Union’s products and services. Makes every member interaction the best experience possible by referring products that will make a positive impact on a member’s financial situation.
- Processes member financial transactions which include but not limited to deposits, withdrawals and loan payments, maintaining proper security, and following Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Maintain dual control at all times.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned by management.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School or equivalency.
Knowledge: Must be familiar with a wide range of credit union products and offerings.
Experience: Must have teller line experience as well as familiarity with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical: Work is primarily sedentary, requiring only minimum physical demands. Ability to operate office equipment including computers is required.
Communication: Ideal candidate would have the ability to communicate in Portuguese and English.
Work Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office environment. Outside travel will be required to perform some of the business development and community outreach activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
