Behavior Support Assistant
Summer Program Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm
School In-Session Hours:
Hours: 7:00am to 8:30am / 2:00pm to 5:30pm
Part-time hours. All shifts available. (up to 20 hours per week)
REPORTS TO: Out of School Time Director/Out of School Time Coordinator
JOB GOAL: Assists students with behavioral needs, implements positive behavior interventions, and maintains a safe and supportive environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Student Support:
a. Provide individual or small group support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
b. Assist students in developing and maintaining positive social and emotional skills.
c. Monitor student behavior and provide feedback to staff.
2. Environment and Safety:
a. Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
b. Supervise students during various activities, such as snack, art, physical activity, and other transitions.
c. Ensure compliance with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) safety protocols and regulations.
3. Communication and Collaboration:
a. Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students.
b. Assist in documenting student behavior as needed.
c. Participate in staff meetings and training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or operate tools, objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk, stoop, bend, crawl or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds without assistance and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard, standard office equipment and tools at efficient speed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, policies, instructions, correspondence, and procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to employees, students, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The position requires an individual to work inside a classroom setting where noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary : $19 - $20
