The Universal Heavy Truck South quality inspector reports directly to the Quality Supervisor/Manager. The Quality Inspector position is required to support all inspection activities associated with the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles. Quality Inspectors report to the Quality Supervisor and work directly with Line Leaders and Production Supervisors to resolve non-conformances discovered during the inspection processes. Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm. Pay Rate: $21.00/hr Responsibilities Inspecting axles and axle components to verify the correct component installation. Validating critical characteristics utilizing gauges, fixtures and templates. Completing data entry associated with nonconforming product. Documenting completed inspections on applicable hard copy forms and electronic databases. Scanning, organizing and preparing quality documentation for retrieval and archive. Assisting with the development and inclusion of best practices associated with inspection activities. Adaptable and flexible when learning new inspection activities and working at various inspection stations as required. Requirements General knowledge of mechanical and electrical components required for the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles and associated components. Capable of inspecting axles and axle components on a moving line. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scanning of documentation to a network file. Ability to lift 35 lbs or more.
