Engineering Planner

Weston & Sampson is rapidly expanding our Planning Practice and is seeking a Project Planner for our Charleston, SC office. The ideal candidate will be a planner with approximately 5 - 10 years of experience in the Charleston, SC area. AICP is highly preferred.

What you’ll do: 

• Support and assist in leading resilience, urban planning and development projects as well as support related business development initiatives.
• Assist on multi-disciplinary teams on projects.
• Assist in coordinating with clients on existing projects and project development. Assist in coordination with sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
• Support and prepare both analytical and planning-level studies.
• Assist in scoping and task management. Assist in planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of planning work on large-moderate scale projects.
• Prepare presentations, reports, memoranda, and other high-quality communication materials.
• Prepare presentations for and facilitate community meetings.

What you will bring:

• 5 - 10 years of experience in land-use planning, resiliency and related disciplines.
• Master’s degree in planning with at least 5 years of experience is preferred; or a bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in planning or a closely related discipline can be substituted.
• AICP is highly preferred.
• Strong project experience resume.
• Understanding of land-use and environmental regulation.
• Excellent communication skills
