What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer I -Water (Portsmouth, NH) position at Weston & Sampson?
Weston & Sampson is hiring an Engineer with our water discipline with 0 to 4 years of experience out of our Portsmouth, NH office.
Successful candidates need to be interested in the planning, study, design, and construction of water supply, storage, distribution, and treatment systems; the construction of water systems; and computer-aided analyses of water distribution systems including preparation of plans and specifications for permitting and construction. Also needs to be interested/experienced with the basic AutoCAD environment and ARCGIS. Applicant must be able to handle flexible work load, diverse project files, and working well with multiple staff members. Candidates will need to be able to make day trips to project sites (valid driver’s license required) to perform project tasks including, field tests, data gathering, field inspections, and construction observation.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Environemtal Engineering
- 0-4 years of experience
- Either in possession of or pursuing EIT or PE licensure status
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Strong Writing and Verbal Communication Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prior experience or coursework doing water resources, water treatment, water distribution, hydraulics, or related civil engineering design work
- Experience with ArcGIS
Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000 based on education
