The Weston Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Office Aide to support our three elementary schools. This is a part time, school-year role (7.5 hours/day, including a 30 minute unpaid lunch, for 181 days). About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 150 students (K-12).
Key Responsibilities- Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion
- Provide ongoing secretarial and clerical support to the Elementary Team Chairs
- Maintain the Individual Education Program (IEP) database
- Ensure accuracy of information through proofreading and correcting IEP records
- Process Special Education paperwork including coordination and delivery of IEPs to parents
- Track deadlines and dates to ensure timely return of IEP signature pages
- Monitor the due dates of evaluations and meetings for Team Chairs
- Provide data relevant to Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) reporting codes for special education services and placements
- Provide timely student information and data, including evaluations, meeting dates, and signature dates to Team Members
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Team Chair;
- Performs other assignments as directed by the Student Services Director and /or Team Chair
- High School Diploma or equivalent required/ two years of experience, an Associate Degree, or a combination of these experiences strongly preferred
- Able to maintain confidential information in all matters
- Highly organized and able to manage detailed records and timelines
- Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
- Strong communication skills
For the 2026-27 school year, the Elementary Special Education Office Aide will earn between $24.24 to $26.06 per hour, depending on relevant experience.
