Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, with skills in cake decorating, food preparation, and food safety. This role involves creating high-quality baked goods, decorating pastries, and ensuring all products meet our standards for taste and presentation. The Pastry Chef will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences through their culinary expertise and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs, utilizing cake decorating skills
  • Package baked goods efficiently for display or delivery, ensuring freshness and presentation quality
  • Assist in food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all items
  • Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Support kitchen staff during busy periods, contributing to overall kitchen operations
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
  • Create and refine dessert menus by developing new and exciting recipes that complement the overall dining experience
  • Ingredient and inventory management: Source, monitor and manage ingredients and supplies ensuring quality and freshness

Experience

  • Prefer 10 years of proven experience in pastry arts or baking within a professional kitchen environment
  • Strong cake decorating skills with experience in designing visually appealing desserts
  • Knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety and sanitation
  • Experience with food production, catering, or restaurant settings preferred
  • Familiarity with culinary techniques such as baking, cooking, knife skills, and food preparation
  • Previous roles involving customer service or working directly with clients is a plus
  • Kitchen experience demonstrating proficiency in food handling and safety protocols
