Transportation Manager

Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000 Annually
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our local terminals, coordinating the transportation of freight, and ensuring the efficient and timely handling of shipments. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and meeting all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of one of our terminal locations, including managing a team of dispatchers and independent drivers.
Identify and forecast staffing and equipment needs.
Coordinate the transportation of freight, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
Monitor delivery status and update customers and team members on the status of shipments.
Ensure the efficient and timely handling of shipments at the terminal.
Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, including complying with all relevant regulations and standards.
Support and promote execution of company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to optimize terminal operations and efficiency.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of terminal operations.
Assist in recruitment and training of terminal staff and drivers.
Qualifications:
3 years of experience in terminal or logistics management.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and software, including routing and scheduling software.
Knowledge of transportation industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
