California Job Description
SCOPE: All Lifestyle Assistants of Westmont Living communities are key team members, maintaining full accountability for fulfillment of the mission of Westmont Living at their respective communities. The Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for promoting “Live Your Way® ” activity program, in which all three components of health and wellness are addressed, physical exercise/activity, brain fitness/life long learning
and social events/spirituality.
Position Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Have current criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
- Passed post offer health physical and drug screen.
- TB test results within 7 days of hire and a health screen within 30 days of hire (when transferring test results TB or health screen will not be older than 6 months)
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current First Aid certification
- Must be able to push/pull up to 40 lbs, lift up to 35 lbs.
- Current Class B drivers’ license with passenger endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Possess and maintain clean driving record with no moving violations, serious accidents within the past three years; no uninsurable incidents
- Provide return demonstration for safety procedures and awareness prior to operating Community vehicles
- Able to drive for long periods of time
- Able to sit for long periods of time
- Able to assist riders on and off Community vehicles
- Ability to communicate in English
Core Responsibilities:
This position provides for a high level of customer service to residents, team members and professionals. This is accomplished through promoting Westmont Living’s Service Promise and Service Standards. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, organizing and conducting events and planned Lifestyle services to promote rich living experiences for and to meet the varied needs and interests of residents living within the community. Additionally, this position will be responsible for providing transportation services for residents.
Resident Satisfaction
• Assisting with activities as directed by Lifestyle Director.
• Encourage resident participation to develop and maintain residents’ fullest potential through planned activities.
Assist with the Community’s arts and crafts activities.
• Cultivate leisure time activities such as games, puzzles, movies, etc.
Transportation
• Transport residents safely to and from various locations such as: medical appointments, shopping, banks, activities and social events
• Complete vehicle safety checks daily, prior to driving vehicle and assures mobile phone and ear piece is always available and fully charged.
• Assist riders on and off Community vehicles as needed.
• Secure assistive devices within community vehicle.
• Drive Company vehicles carefully and responsibility at all times by obeying all rules of the road, ensuring proper visibility using the rear view mirrors, driving at a safe speed, using headlights at night, etc.
• Maintain accurate and current safety documentation for safety checks.
• Keep bus and other Community vehicles (where applicable) clean inside and out.
• Assure preventative maintenance procedures and documentation is completed per maintenance schedule.
• Inform Lifestyle Director and Executive Director immediately and follow up in writing if any mechanical problems or maintenance issues arise with any Community vehicles.
