Join Westminster Village team as a Wound Nurse (RN/LPN), where your expertise will directly impact resident recovery and quality of life. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement wound care strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring optimal healing outcomes. Such performance and supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by Administration, and your supervisor, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of resident’ wounds, including measuring, documentation, and evaluating healing progress.
- Develop personalized wound care plans incorporating advanced techniques such as sterile dressing changes, suturing, and catheterization when necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments related to wound management for specific conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for residents with complex needs such as those in hospice or long-term care settings.
- Monitor vital signs and perform physical examinations to evaluate overall resident health status and identify potential complications early.
- Educate residents and their families on wound care procedures, infection prevention, nutrition, and pain management strategies to promote healing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation for all patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Valid RN or LPN license.
- Knowledge on the use of computers, email accounts, software programs such as Word and Excel an minor office machines such as faxes and copiers.
- the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel.
- Requires judgement in prioritizing the performance of task, duties and responsibilities in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
