SUMMARY:
The IT Support Specialist is devoted to all aspects of installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for all residents on campus. This person reports to the Chief Information Officer
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Support and troubleshoot technical connectivity issues with residents via phone, and in person.
- Determine source of computer problems and or connectivity.
- Document resolutions for future reference and follow up with residents.
- Communicate technical specifications into clear non-technical terms.
- Manage the set-up, installation, and upgrades to ensure quality network reliability.
- Manage the handling of computer connections to each other, printing, local network, and auxiliary devices such as tablets, and smartphones.
- Assist in the process of design and implementation to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations.
- Provide effective, respectful resident assistance through advice, training, solutions, and guidance.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred.
- 2-4 years’ experience working with information technologies and systems analysis.
- Help Desk experience preferred.
- Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills.
- Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing applications and systems.
- Must be able to commit to a schedule and be prompt.
- Individual must be a team player and work well with others.
- Individual must be organized and a self-starter with the ability to think outside of the box.
- Understand situational awareness and how your actions impact other business and technical processes.
